MATT TO JOIN THE FAR FIELD FOR RECORDING SESSION AT ROCKFIELD STUDIOS
Matt has been called to join a recording session for The Far Field at the legendary Rockfiled Studios in Monmouthshire, south-east Wales. The band will be recording a 3-track EP to be released later this year.

PAT GARVEY DRUM MASTERCLASS on sunday 12th july
Matt is excited to welcome Pat Garvey to Folkestone for a small group hands-on masterclass at The Music Workshop.
ABOUT PAT
Regarded as one of the UK’s most prominent player-educators, Pat Garvey has worked as a professional musician for over 30 years. As a player he’s the drummer in Ozric Tentacles and as an educator he’s Head of Drums/Principal Lecturer at BIMM University Brighton.
He is proud to have many of his past & present private students working within the creative industries worldwide including some playing & working with some of the most recognisable acts in the world, including Rag n’ Bone Man, Central Cee, The Darkness, Billy Ocean/Tricky, Queen & Adam Lambert, Soul Wax, Two Door Cinema Club, Leona Lewis, Hotwax, Incognito, The Subways, Lawson, The 1975, Vader, Bastille, Charlie XCX, Ines Rae, Decapitated, Nathan Dawe, James Marriot, & Charlie Sloth amongst others.
WHAT HE’LL BE COVERING
During the first half Pat will be working participants through a selection of pad work exercises exploring technique, rhythm, concepts, development & application. During the 2nd half of the session & linked to the first half, Pat will be playing through & discussing a selection of tracks & pieces, discussing & demonstrating ideas & concepts on the two kits he'll have with him, & holding a Q&A session.

ESSENTIAL DRUMMING STYLES COURSE AT THE MUSIC WORKSHOP & CAFÉ
Throughout January 2024, Matt ran a styles course at The Music Workshop in Folkestone. It was carefully designed for adults of all skill levels and ran for 4 weeks (every Thursday in January) from 7pm to 9pm. Students had the option to attend a single class or the whole course. “A HEAD FULL OF GHOSTS” GETS RADIO 1 AIRPLAY
The brand new Violet Vendetta single “A Head Full Of Ghosts” has received airplay from Alyx Holcombe and Daniel P Carter on Radio 1. The single precedes the release of the upcoming album “The Possibility Of The Impossible,” due to be released in the new year.
The King Rooks perform at HMV
The King Rooks played an in-store show at HMV on 12th November. They performed a 45-minute set at the Canterbury store as part of the promotion for their upcoming EP release, due on 2nd December. Video created by Stanley Lane.
